StillUnemployed.com is operated by Elevate Media Technologies LLC. This notice explains the information we handle, why we use it and your choices. Optional analytics and personalized recommendations are separate from signing in.

1. The short version

You can browse, search, save jobs and use the tracker without an account. Where Google sign-in is enabled, it is optional and synchronizes saved jobs, your tracker and requested board preferences through Firebase. Sign-in is currently enabled on previews; production keeps those features on your device. Usage analytics and signed-in personalized recommendations are optional and can be chosen separately in Privacy & recommendations.

2. Information we collect

• Accounts and requested features. Firebase Authentication processes your Google name, email, image and account identifier to sign you in. Cloud Firestore stores saved jobs and tracker records under your account, including company, role, public job link, date, status and notes you enter. Saved jobs also retain the public pay, location and summary so your saved card remains readable after a listing leaves the board. That saved copy stays until you unsave it; a missing listing is not automatically treated as a confirmed closure. Signing in can add jobs saved on this device while signed out. We do not request Gmail, contacts or Google browsing history.
• Optional usage analytics. With analytics enabled, structured events measure visits and returning visits, specific jobs shown or explored, saves, application-link clicks, self-reported applications, filters, theme selections and like/dislike feedback, preference save/clear/skip actions, not-a-fit responses, tracker use, sign-in outcomes and visits to pages including this policy. Events have timestamps, session identifiers and an identifier associated with your browser or signed-in account. These linkable identifiers are not anonymous. Preference actions and not-a-fit responses are counted as actions, not unique people or completed profiles. These action events do not include your answers or the job identity. Names, emails, account tokens, search text, tracker notes and other free text are excluded from analytics records.
• Optional feature and recovery counts. With analytics enabled, we also count opening or dismissing application feedback, opening bookmark help or preferences, empty search results, newsletter dismissals. We count whether loading, sign-in, sign-out, sync or preference saving fails, and when you retry, sign out or a feature recovers. These events contain the action type and page category alongside the identifiers and timing described above. They do not contain error messages, written answers, search queries or job identities. Opening application feedback does not prove a return from an employer site.
• Board preferences you choose. On an account-enabled preview, you may optionally enter your major, preferred location and other roles or skills you want to explore. These answers are stored with your account and cached in this browser. We use a limited set of study and role keywords as positive ordering hints, including adjacent fields; this never excludes you for your degree. Avoid sensitive details. Clear or edit your answers in Your preferences. Open Board menu, then Your preferences, whenever you want to add or change these hints. We do not open the questions automatically. Opening an employer page is not application confirmation. Hidden jobs, confirmations and prompt dismissals also synchronize with your account. Restoring a hidden card leaves its tracker record unchanged.
• Returning-board suggestions. The returning-board suggestions feature is paused. We do not show its new-job note or write new visit-feature records while it is paused. Existing account records may include a visit counter, last-visit time, a bounded snapshot of public listing identifiers and the day a note was offered. These retained account feature records are separate from optional usage analytics, which can still measure returning visits when enabled.
• Optional recommendations. With personalization enabled and an account signed in, we store interests inferred from jobs you explore, save, open to apply for or report applying to. We weight distinct jobs and recent actions and consider broad career fields and role specialties. Higher pay does not receive an ordering preference. Filters and Recently added take priority. We do not use your Google profile or account security signals to infer career interests or sensitive characteristics. These recommendations do not assess employment eligibility.
• Timing. With analytics enabled, we estimate active time on our pages and observed time away after opening a job link. We cap an away interval at 15 minutes and mark that cap. We cannot see another website's contents or activity, know which tab you used, or confirm that you applied. No observed return means an unknown interval. A visible popup is not evidence of time spent applying. Browser restrictions and interrupted sessions can prevent measurement.
• Job suggestions and availability reports. Suggest Jobs collects a public job link, optional note and random retry identifier into a private Netlify Forms inbox for review and spam filtering. An ordinary visitor's unavailable-job report hides the listing from their own view. On the live board, the public posting details can also be sent for review. These user-requested operations do not require optional analytics. Do not include personal information in suggestions.
• Listing moderation. On enabled previews, an authorized owner can unlist a job across that preview and later restore it. We verify the owner's Google sign-in and keep a private moderation record containing public posting information, the owner role, action, reason, time, revision and retry identifier. We do not store the sign-in token, Google account response, account email or personal notes in that record. Moderation works independently of optional analytics and does not delete your saved copies or Tracker records. Preview moderation records are separate from production.
• Technical information. Hosting and backend providers process IP addresses, request times and other technical data needed to deliver and secure the service. The optional analytics collector uses a keyed identifier for short-lived abuse limits; it does not store raw IP addresses in event records.
• Newsletter. An optional embedded Beehiiv form sends your email directly to Beehiiv for the newsletter. The email is not sent to the analytics collector. You can unsubscribe from any newsletter. Beehiiv privacy policy.

We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, infer sensitive traits or give employers a person's browsing profile.

3. How we use information

• Keep listings current, including reviewing jobs reported no longer available;
• Understand which roles and categories are useful so we can improve the Board;
• Review suggested jobs before deciding whether to publish them. A reviewer may use AI tools to check the public employer posting; optional private notes are not sent to those tools;
• Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site; and
• Detect and prevent abuse or misuse.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your information. We share information only with:

• Service providers. Netlify hosts the site, server functions, private suggestions inbox and private moderation records in Netlify Blobs. Google provides Sheets and Apps Script for listings and requested availability reports, plus Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore for enabled accounts, sync, optional analytics and recommendations. Google sign-in also verifies access to owner moderation. Beehiiv handles optional newsletter subscriptions. This version uses first-party measurement and does not load Google Analytics tags.
• Legal and safety reasons, if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Elevate Media Technologies LLC, our users, or the public.
• Business transfers, in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

5. Cookies and local storage

The Board remembers the last small stock note shown on each board in local storage so the next visit can show a different one. This is not a record of text you wrote.

The Board uses your browser's local storage (not advertising cookies) to remember your saved jobs, your application tracker, and your chosen look. Signed-out data stays on your device. If you sign in on an enabled preview, saved jobs and tracker records also synchronize with your Firebase account. Signing out leaves that account's cache in this browser; it does not delete the cloud records. Clear this site's browser data to remove local caches. Removing a saved job or tracker row while signed in synchronizes that removal. Clearing browser data alone does not remove cloud records.

We remember when you press “Let’s find a role” on a deliberately announced Latest Update. That acknowledgment stops the same announcement from appearing automatically again, including after ordinary page refreshes and routine patch releases. It stays in this browser, separately from your Google account. You can reopen the note with “What’s new” on the board. Older announcement receipts may remain stored. Clearing site data resets these preferences.

To space out reminders, this tab counts opened job notes, and this device counts newly saved applications and bookmarked jobs with a marker for the current account or signed-out state. These counters limit repeated newsletter invitations and Tracker or Saved hints. A Saved shortcut may appear after the first new bookmark and every fifth one. While signed out, your first new bookmark may instead show a Google sign-in reminder about finding saved jobs across devices. We may also offer sign-in after three newly saved applications. Each sign-in reminder has its own browser marker so it is not offered repeatedly, and the reminders do not appear together. These reminder records contain no job links, job details or written answers and are not sent to analytics. Closing the tab resets its counter; clearing this site's browser data removes the device counters and reminder markers.

A pending public job question can be saved in this tab’s session storage while Google sign-in completes. We restore it only within a 10-minute window and remove the saved state when it is checked on return. This does not submit an application or answer the question for you.

To help you return to the same place, this tab can remember your search, filters and scroll position. We reuse that view for up to 30 minutes and only for the same browser account state, and clear it when the account changes. This tab also remembers the current board section so switching between Jobs, Internships and Tracker clears the Saved-only filter without removing your bookmarks. It does not contain a copy of the job catalog; listings are loaded again. This local navigation feature works separately from optional analytics, and your search text is not sent to analytics.

Your separate choices. Analytics and recommendations based on activity history are off until selected. The short privacy notice offers Allow optional to enable both, No thanks to decline both, and Choose to select them separately. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, the notice only offers recommendations and analytics remain off. Opening or closing the detailed choices does not enable either feature. You can change either choice using Privacy & recommendations on Home, Jobs, Internships, Tracker, Suggest Jobs and policy pages. Declining analytics stops optional usage collection and removes its browser identifier; personalization can remain enabled independently. Turning behavioral personalization off stops learning from and using your activity history in this browser. Written major, location and interest hints stay in use until you clear them in Your preferences. Another device with personalization enabled can continue using the account profile. Your browser's Global Privacy Control signal keeps optional analytics off. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Reset history. Privacy & recommendations can delete recommendation and optional analytics records associated with the signed-in account and the current browser identifier. It leaves saved jobs, tracker records, written preferences and hidden-job choices unchanged. Open Board menu to edit or delete written answers and save the changes in Your preferences or restore dismissed cards with Show hidden jobs. Contact us to delete account feature records. A failed reset displays an error so you can retry. Clearing browser data alone does not delete existing server records.

6. Third-party links

The Board links out to job postings and application pages on third-party websites, and to our newsletter. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of those sites. Their terms and privacy policies govern your use of them. If you subscribe to our newsletter, your email is handled by Beehiiv under its own privacy policy, not this one. Always verify a role directly with the employer before sharing personal information.

7. Data retention

We keep job suggestions and review records while needed for review, duplicate detection and abuse prevention, and remove them when they are no longer needed for those purposes. Submitting a link does not publish your note or add a job to the Board.

We keep moderation decisions and their history while needed to apply listing changes, review corrections and prevent misuse. These operational records are separate from the 90-day optional analytics history. They are reviewed for removal when no longer needed; they do not have an automatic 90-day expiry.

Optional reports and recommendations use at most 90 days of activity. Server records are scheduled for deletion after that period; processing failures can delay removal. Expired activity is excluded from reports and recommendations even if deletion is delayed. Account, tracker and requested board-feature records remain until you remove them or request account deletion. Historical returning-board snapshots retain at most 2,000 public listing identifiers and are not updated while that feature is paused; they are not a complete browsing history. Written preferences do not enter optional analytics reports. Historical records collected under an earlier policy and provider backups can require separate removal. Contact us to request access or deletion.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect the information we handle. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights and choices

You can remove individual saved jobs and tracker rows in the app. For deletion of an optional preview account and its cloud data, contact us using the address below from the email used for Google sign-in. Clearing your browser data removes local caches, but does not delete the cloud account. Use Reset history while the browser identifier or signed-in account is available. If those identifiers are no longer available, we may need more information to match older usage records. Depending on where you live, you may still have rights under laws such as the CCPA/CPRA (California) or GDPR (EEA/UK), including the right to know, delete, or object to certain processing, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To make a request, email us at the address below.

10. Children's privacy

The Board is intended for adults 18 and older (our audience is recent graduates and early-career professionals). We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if you believe someone under 18 has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. International users

We operate from the United States. If you access the Board from outside the U.S., your information may be processed in the U.S., where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new effective date. If an update changes our use of Google-provided account data, we will notify affected users and request any required new consent before that use.
