Privacy Policy

StillUnemployed.com (the "Board" or "Site") is operated by Elevate Media Technologies LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the Board does and does not collect when you use it. By using the Board, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Board.

1. The short version

The Board has no accounts and no sign-up. We do not ask for or collect your name, phone number, or payment information. The one exception is our optional newsletter box: if you choose to enter your email address there, it goes to our newsletter provider (Beehiiv) — nowhere else, and never as a condition of using the Board. Browsing, searching, saving and applying all work without giving us anything. We do log anonymous usage events (like which jobs you click, save, or search for), tied to a random ID stored in your browser, to keep the listings useful and current. Your saved jobs and chosen look are stored in your own browser.

2. Information we collect

• Anonymous usage analytics. To keep the Board useful and current, we log anonymous interaction events to a private log (hosted on Google Sheets via Google Apps Script). These include: page views, which job links you click, "I applied" and "broken link" taps, jobs you save, "look" (theme) changes, filter and category selections, and the text you type into the search box. Each event is stored with a timestamp, the page URL, the referring page, and any marketing-campaign ("UTM") parameters from the link you arrived through.
• A random device ID. The first time you visit, your browser generates a random ID (a short string like a1b2c3d4e5) and stores it locally on your device. We attach this ID to the events above so we can tell repeat activity in one browser apart from another. It is not tied to your name, email, or any account (we have none), and we do not try to identify you from it. You can erase it anytime by clearing your browser's site data.
• Stored on your device. Your saved/bookmarked jobs, your application tracker, and your chosen look live in your browser's local storage and stay on your device. We never receive the full list.
• Application-tracker events. To understand whether the tracker is useful, we log an anonymous event when you add a row, change its status (e.g. Applied, Interview, Offer, Rejected), or export your data. These events include the company and role text you typed into that row, even for a job that isn't on the Board. They carry the same random device ID as everything else in this section and are never tied to your name or email (we don't have either). Please don't type anything into the tracker you wouldn't want in an anonymous log — and you can skip the tracker entirely; the Board works without it.
• Basic technical data. Like any website, our hosting and backend providers may automatically process standard technical information (such as IP address, browser type, and request times) to deliver and secure the Site. We do not use this to identify you.
• Your email address — only if you type it into the newsletter box. Some pages on the Board show an optional signup form for our newsletter, The 2026 Job Hunt Recipe. The form is embedded from Beehiiv, our newsletter provider, and submits directly to Beehiiv — your email is stored in our Beehiiv subscriber list and is handled under Beehiiv's privacy policy. It is not added to the anonymous event log above and is not linked to your random device ID. It is entirely optional: every part of the Board works whether or not you ever fill it in, and you can unsubscribe from any email we send.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information.

3. How we use information

• Keep listings fresh, including retiring dead or closed job links;
• Understand which roles and categories are useful so we can improve the Board;
• Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site; and
• Detect and prevent abuse or misuse.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your information. We share information only with:

• Service providers that help us run the Board, including Netlify (website hosting), Google (we use Google Sheets and Google Apps Script to store job listings and the anonymous interaction log), Google Analytics (aggregate traffic measurement, only if you accept the cookie notice — see Section 5), and Beehiiv (our newsletter platform — it receives your email address only if you choose to submit the optional newsletter form). Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies.
• Legal and safety reasons, if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Elevate Media Technologies LLC, our users, or the public.
• Business transfers, in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

5. Cookies and local storage

The Board uses your browser's local storage (not advertising cookies) to remember your saved jobs, your application tracker, and your chosen look. This data stays on your device — though the act of saving a job or switching the look is logged anonymously, as described in Section 2. You can clear it through your browser settings at any time; doing so will reset your saved jobs, tracker, and theme.

Google Analytics (optional, consent-based). When you first visit, we show a cookie notice. Only if you click Accept do we load Google Analytics, which then sets its own cookies to measure aggregate traffic (such as how many people visit, which pages, general location by region, device type, and where visits came from). If you click Decline, Google Analytics is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set. We do not use it for advertising, and your IP address is anonymized. You can change your mind anytime by clearing this site's data. This is separate from the anonymous first-party log in Section 2, which runs regardless.

6. Third-party links

The Board links out to job postings and application pages on third-party websites, and to our newsletter. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of those sites. Their terms and privacy policies govern your use of them. If you subscribe to our newsletter, your email is handled by Beehiiv under its own privacy policy, not this one. Always verify a role directly with the employer before sharing personal information.

7. Data retention

We keep the anonymous interaction log for as long as it is useful for keeping the Board current and improving it, and then for a reasonable period afterward. Because these records are tied only to a random device ID (never your name or email), they cannot generally be tied back to an individual.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect the information we handle. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights and choices

The Board has no accounts and identifies you only by a random, pseudonymous device ID (never your name or email), so there is generally no personal profile to access or delete, and we may be unable to match a request to specific records. Depending on where you live, you may still have rights under laws such as the CCPA/CPRA (California) or GDPR (EEA/UK), including the right to know, delete, or object to certain processing, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To make a request, email us at the address below.

10. Children's privacy

The Board is intended for adults 18 and older (our audience is recent graduates and early-career professionals). We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if you believe someone under 18 has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. International users

We operate from the United States. If you access the Board from outside the U.S., your information may be processed in the U.S., where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new effective date. Your continued use of the Board after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
